Imagine… taking your favorite kayak or stand up paddleboard out for the day and easily converting it to be self-propelled. Or how about a way to swim underwater using the same device to propel you through water. This is entirely possible with the Bixpy Jet, the World’s first and only portable handheld water propulsion device that is adaptable for multiple watersport platforms. The Bixpy Jet is suited for use in both fresh and saltwater and is built to withstand the harshest conditions. So much so that all components and connectors are rated to at least IP67, a certification protecting against liquids up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. The Bixpy Jet is roughly the same weight as a 1 Liter water bottle and can create enough thrust to propel a 240-lb. kayak with 2 adults fully packed heading against the tide.

The Bixpy Jet can move 100 gallons of water per minute propelling your kayak or stand up paddleboard at a comfortable speed. The nose of the Bixpy features a protective plastic “bumper” in case of impact and also protects the water cooling system for the electronics housed inside. At the base near the propeller lives a mechanism to break or cut seaweed and grass. In the event that long and fibrous grass gets entangled in the intake area and wraps around the impeller, this can easily be cleared by using forceps to remove the grass or debris and from the blades. Never run the Bixpy Jet out of the water or overheat due to a clog. Doing so can overheat the motor and will not be covered under the warranty.

The Bixpy Swim Jet is controlled using a handheld finger trigger. The trigger controls the speed and on/off switches. One click turns the system on, and further clicks control speeds. Once the trigger is released, the system stops immediately. This provides users a safe underwater experience. The batteries in the Bixpy Swim Jet can last up to 2 hours and it has a max speed of 2.5 MPH.

Attaching the Bixpy Jet to a kayak is another great way to utilize this small but efficient propulsion system. Bixpy offers multiple mounting kits for Hobie’s Mirage Drive system, a rudder adapter for the Hobie Pro Angler and a universal mounting option for virtually any canoe, kayak or personal watercraft. Just attach the adjustable pipes and accessories and use the Bixpy Jet like a trolling motor. The Bixpy Jet can push a 600 Lb. Hobie Tandem Island between 1 and 4 MPH up to 7 hours. That’s a days’ worth of adventure.

By switching out the large fin of your stand-up paddleboard with Bixpy’s Fin Box adaptor, paddlers can go further and faster.  Motorized SUPs are an ideal way for beginners to learn how to paddleboard and a great way to get family and friends on the water. By adding the Bixpy to an SUP, paddlers can reach top speeds of 5.5 MPH and maintain that speed for just over an hour.
