Century Boat Company was founded in 1926. In 1928, the company moved to Manistee, Michigan where it remained for over 60 years. In the 1940's, Century was awarded a government contract to manufacture 3600 boats for World War II and received the Army-Navy 'E' Citation for high achievement in production. In the 1950's, Century had over 340 authorized dealers, an unprecedented amount for any boat builder of that era.
