Metan Marine Classic Collection – The New Era of Nostalgia

Published May 10th, 2017 by Bernardo

Metan Marine got its start restoring and remanufacturing the classics or heirloom boats of the 60’s. The types of boats tied to the memories of getting on the water with Grandpa, in his 13 foot Boston Whaler, and exploring the intracoastal waterways for the first time as a child. For many, that nostalgic family experience was the birth of a love for water and a love of boating. For the last 20 years, Metan Marine has not only refurbished the classics but is now building their own line under the name Metan Marine Classic Collection. The new line of boats is styled after those heirloom Whalers.

Metan Marine Classic Collection’s 13-foot series of the Skiff, Super Sport and Tender, all feature the quintessential stylings of the Whalers with today’s high-tech construction and finishes. The hulls of the boats are constructed with advanced vacuum infused vinyl ester resins, making the vessels strong, lightweight and more importantly, durable. This vacuum infused technology is also how Metan can provide a 10-year structural warranty.

The Skiff, Super Sport and Tender boats all offer reinforced lifting eyes for ease of transport and tender capabilities while also offering USA Stainless Steel hardware for rust resistance and a modern attractive appearance. The standard mahogany featured throughout the boats is what makes them most attractive. Essentially maintenance free, the woodwork is covered in epoxy and acrylic urethane and is easily cleaned with soap and water. The mahogany gives the boats an elegant touch. The Metan Tender model has an optional teak decking system, custom color hull and interior colors for continuity and ultimate styling of its mastership.

Nautical Ventures is proud to be a Metan Marine Classic Collection dealer. With locations in Fort Lauderdale, North Palm Beach, and Riviera Beach, Nautical Ventures offers these vessels to the South Florida boat and yacht community. All our Nautical Venture locations will put any make & model in the water to accommodate sea trials. The chance to try-it-before-you-buy-it is a big consideration every new yacht tender buyer should insist upon.
