Orange is the New Green. (Part 1)

Published October 13th, 2016 by Bernardo

In the quest for clean energy products and environmentally friendly personal transportation, the automotive industry is out front with Tesla leading the pack. The push for similar advances in green power and construction has been going on in the marine industry for quite some time, with varying degrees of accomplishment depending on the product.

Nautical Ventures is leading the charge in the retail sector by searching out and acquiring new product lines committed to creating a harmonious balance between nature and nautical. Their signature Orange logo has earned a catchphrase in the industry, “Orange is the new Green.”

Roger Moore, CEO of Nautical Ventures, is no stranger to the environmental cause. He once owned a water purification company back in his hometown of San Francisco, and currently holds several patents for water purification processes. Additionally, he and his wife Samantha circumnavigated the globe on their 66’ motor-sailor covering 42,000 nautical miles over a span of 13 years. To say that Roger understands the cause and effect of this movement would be an understatement. His research into the brands actively promoting a green planet have unveiled the following products, which Nautical Ventures will showcase during the upcoming 2016 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.

In this first of a four-part blog, we examine a new entry from Slovania that’s making a splash in the European Eastern Bloc countries.

Alfastreet Marine Electric Boats: Slovenia

If there is a boat equivalent to the automotive phenomenon of Tesla, it would be Alfastreet Marine from Slovenia. With models ranging from 18’ to 23’, they offer both displacement and planing hulls – a first in this category, with enough power to pull a water skier.

The boats themselves are nothing short of spectacular, with timeless retro style lines meeting hi-tech innovative details. Push a button and the electric hydraulic top used to cocoon the spacious open deck becomes a functional hardtop. When closed, the boat is sealed shut. High quality components are used throughout, and power options include electric, gas and hybrid motors.

Tomorrow, Nautical Ventures will take a look at an exciting new boat line made from composite materials and utilizing clean, electric power in a way no other builder has done to date.
