Ranger Tugs Boat – Life in the Slow Lane.

You’ve heard the expression, “Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.” That sums up the general attitude of a Ranger Tug boat owner, whose life accomplishments read like a who’s who list of a renaissance man… or woman. Successful entrepreneurs, world travelers, families of substance with values rooted in personal faith and strong ethics passed down through their generations. They come from all walks of life; pilots, farmers, musicians, artists, doctors, electricians, plumbers, teachers, with one common denominator. All of them are adventurers who can show you the photo albums of their past busy lives. But then, one day, something clicked. Something that put a life moment on pause. A milestone birthday? A wedding? A birth? A funeral? A pause to reflect on life going forward, but perhaps not fast forward.

The famous poet writer Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, “Life is a journey, not a destination.” Who better to understand that then someone who owns and pilots a Ranger Tug boat. They call themselves TUGNUTS, whose social media platform hangs from the transom of their vessel. For them, the great escape is the great loop. Owner rendezvous’ shatter attendance records leaving no room at the docks for their go-fast counterparts. It’s a world where cruising at 11 knots is like living life at light speed… absorbing nature, the scenery, and the camaraderie of good friends they meet along the way.

And for the live-a-board lifestyle, the expression “big things come in small packages” most definitely rings true. Ranger Tug boats have the interior volume and onboard ergonomic space, with all the creature comforts of home, found on much bigger boats. Extended excursions are common place for a Ranger boat owner. They own the waterway by day, with fuel efficiency and a mileage range befitting of its significant keel. By night, they own the moon and stars.
