But Márcio’s vision went beyond that of innovative yacht design. He had a plan to build super-strong hulls whose construction process had minimum impact on the fragile environment of his tropical hometown. Schaefer’s proprietary 5-axis CNC milling machine and exclusive vacuum bagged infusion process, produces a performance hull that caught the eye of the Italian design studio of Pininfarina- famous for their collaboration with the automaker Ferrari.

In fact, scheduled for its U.S. debut in 2017, the Schaefer 510 Pininfarina will help mark Schaefer’s 25th anniversary in business. Additionally, Schaefer has set up a U.S. base of operations with plans to build several key models from its American facilities. That’s how confident they are that Schaefer Yachts will fit with the American boating lifestyle.

International marine writers have compared Schaefer Yachts to some notable counterparts such as: Absolute, Azimut, Carver Marquis, Cruisers, Ferretti, Monterrey, Prestige, Princess, Regal, and Sea Ray.
