The NEW Axopar 24 is big on features wrapped inside a 7-meter hull. With 3 Best New Boat of the Year Awards under their belt, Axopar has done it again with the introduction of their new 24-foot model.
So, you want to buy a kayak, standup paddleboard, tender or even a boat but you’re not sure which type, brand or model is right for you. Many stores and dealership offer a nice array of products to look at and touch, but few offer the option to test them out.
This blog is about outboard repowering. You see, somewhere around 1995 I was involved in a large marketing program involving the conversion of a famous brand of hi-end sportfish yachts from traditional inboard designs to the use of outboard power.
Ryan Jones grew up near Oklahoma City, where he was honing his kayak fishing skills for over 15 years.
The 2016 EKFT Sailfish Smackdown was definitely the most action packed tournament to date. Here are the results from this Battle in the Bahamas:
At the risk of using an old adage, I'm going to say, “You get what you pay for.” Nowhere is this more evident than with professional grade fishing tackle – especially reels. But we found a line that really combines the latest technology, machine capabilities, and materials without breaking the bank… Truth Fishing Reels.
In 1972, Fram Oil Filter coined an iconic phrase still used today in many consumer circles, “You can pay me now, or you can pay me later.”
During the 60s, while the Beach Boys were making records, the legendary Hobie Surf Team was setting them. Their lineup featured all the surfing rock stars of their day- Phil Edwards, Joey Cabell, Corky Carroll, Micky Munoz, Joyce Hoffman, Joey Hamasaki, Gary Propper, Billy Hamilton and Herbie Fletcher to name a few.
Hobie® has done it again. They have married their renowned MirageDrive® pedal system with 65 years of board sports expertise to create a totally new kind of Stand Up Paddle Board. In fact, it may coin a new category in the SUP world, namely the Stand Up Pedal Board.
I have one simple rule of thumb in buying any pre-owned vessel. Pay for a boat survey. Unless you’re towing home a scowl bought for the purpose of a complete refit, hire a qualified marine surveyor and have your prospective vessel thoroughly checked out.
Let’s face facts. To a first-time new boat buyer, navigating the waters among a sea of brands can be pretty tricky, and expensive. Beneath that shiny exterior and gelcoat can lie a host of construction factors and performance issues not readily understood to the novice boater. That’s where Nautical Ventures comes in to the picture. We do the legwork for you and only carry brands that meet our high standards, so your time on the water can be the best it can be.
Whether you’re young or old, kayaking provides an enjoyable way to get out on the water and get some exercise at your own pace. Paddle out into deeper water and then jump in for a refreshing swim. Or, take a leisurely journey around the banks of the Peanut Island to explore the tropical waters surrounding. You can even pack a picnic in the roomy storage space.
Attention all you kayak fisherman. You human powered, fish finder, rod holder, beer cooler, state-of-the-art, GoPro rigged yakkers tearing up the tournament trail and spreading the gospel of this emerging sport to all corners of the world… we have news for you. Kayak fishing, even the extreme kind, is nothing new. Evidence of this sport carbon dates to 2,000 BC when the indigenous people of the artic regions fished from driftwood frames covered in animal skins for salmon, cod, seals and even whales.
Paddleboards and Kayaks are a serious investment. As such, you should look for ways to best protect that investment. The proper roof racks will not only provide a safe and secure means to get your paddle board or kayak to your destination, it will add to the enjoyment to your sport by making transporting your gear easier.
One of the most exciting and innovative boats to come out of Europe is AXOPAR Boats.

The time to think about your life raft is NOT when you need it. Your skills as a boater, and your responsibility, go beyond launching, docking, and having a good time. In the event of an emergency are you prepared?
What do you think of when you think tenders? Whether you’re thinking about designs, innovations or functionality it most likely originated at Novurania.

The boat shoe. The iconic footprint that has dominated the deck of untold boats for untold years. It’s been made from numerous materials and into numerous colors. But only until recently has it been reengineered to take on new functionality. Welcome to Airsiders - U.S. Design Patent No. 727,003.
Before the first millennium, ice was harvested in ancient China for the purpose of keeping drinks cold. The Greeks and Romans built large, insulated storage pits and filled them with the last of the winter’s snow in an attempt to enjoy a refreshingly cool drink for as long as possible. If you lived in a warmer climate you could act like an Egyptian and carry your drink containers to the roof at the end of the day to have them cooled by the night air. By the 1600’s Frenchmen were cooling their drinks by rotating long-necked bottles in a solution of saltpeter and water which could actually produce very low temperatures and even make ice!
Floating docks have come a long way from when their very first patents were issued. The most significant change occurred when VersaDock released its patented double float, V-Float technology which provided for safe and controlled drive on docking systems for watercraft ranging from jet skis to very large boats. This new technology allows the boater to gently glide onto the dock.
