Floating docks have come a long way from when their very first patents were issued. The most significant change occurred when VersaDock released its patented double float, V-Float technology which provided for safe and controlled drive on docking systems for watercraft ranging from jet skis to very large boats. When McLaren Cars and Boeing Aircraft Corporation decided to use carbon fiber in some of their newest designs, there was a reason. Century Boat Company was founded in 1926. In 1928, the company moved to Manistee, Michigan where it remained for over 60 years. In the 1940's, Century was awarded a government contract to manufacture 3600 boats for World War II and received the Army-Navy 'E' Citation for high achievement in production.
